Nicole is a astronomer, educator, blogger and science communicator.
Nicole is a Assistant Professor of Physics at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. Her research interests include radio astronomy and science education. Nicole earned her BA in Mathematics (minor), Physics and Astronomy (major) from Lycoming College (2001 – 2005). She got her M.S. and later Ph.D. from University in Virginia (years 2005 to 2012). Title of her dissertation paper was “Characterizing the Performance of the Precision Array for Probing the Epoch of Reionization”. Nicole was a Teaching Assistant at Lycoming College from 2001 to 2005, she then held the same position at University of Virginia until 2007. During that time and up to 2012 Nicole was a Research Assistant at National Radio Astronomy Observatory. Between 2010 and 2014 Nicole contributed as a Science Writer at Discovery Communications. As if this wasn’t enought of responsibilities she also actively worked for CosmoQuest, citizen science project as Informal Education Lead in years 2012 – 2014. She’s active on YouTube – hosting Learning Space videos and appearing in Weekly Space Hangouts. Nicole’s also active in a skeptical society – blogging for Skepchick.
